The end of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century in Romania are connected to the royal family.
Several sightseeing attractions will guide you to discover the traces of Romanian royalty in Bucharest. We go along Calea Victoriei (Victory Avenue) where lies the Royal Palace, Athenee Palace Hilton Hotel, the Romanian Athenaeum, the National Military Circle and then, the Regina Elisabeta (Queen Elizabeth) Boulevard to see the statue of the Prime Minister Mihail Kogalniceanu – the one to proclaim Romania’s independence during the reign of King Carol, the future King Carol the Ist. We continue up to the Military Academy, then to the Cotroceni Palace – the headquarters of Romania’s Presidency, to Aviatorilor Boulevard up to Elisabeta Palace – the current residency of the royal family and towards the Arch of Triumph, The Romanian Peasant Museum and the Natural Sciences Museum “Grigore Antipa”.
